Pagan Calendar 2023 – The Wheel of the Year is Bagan, It is a symbol that represents the 8 festivals that are important to many Wiccans and witches. These holidays, known as sabbaths, follow a nature-based calendar and include four solar festivals and four seasonal festivals.

The holidays vary slightly from year to year because the equinoxes and equinoxes correspond to specific astronomical times. Celebrations are held every six weeks so there is something to look forward to. I've included the Wheel of the Year dates for 2021 at the end of this post.

The 4 lesser days of sabbath or quarter holiday are two solstice and two equinoxes. They have their original German traditions and include Yule (Winter Solstice), Ostara (Spring Equinox), Litha (Summer Solstice) and Mebon (Autumn Equinox).

The major sabbaths, or trans-quarter days, fall halfway between the major sabbaths and have their origins in Celtic traditions. They include Imbolc; Beltane, Includes Lughnasadh and Samhain.

According to Wicca tradition, a goddess (in her maternal form) is born on the longest night of the year (winter), then rests as the earth in winter.
