Early Voting – Early voting will take place in person in the basement of the Courthouse Annex (SunTrust Building). During early voting, the office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday. Early voting takes place in the last 2 weeks of July before the August election and in the last 2 weeks of October before the November election. Call the Election Commission for the exact early voting dates.

Absentee Ballot – Under certain circumstances, registered voters may request that a paper ballot be mailed to them and returned to the Election Commission by U.S. mail. The first day to request a ballot is 90 days before the election and the last day to request a ballot is 7 days before Election Day. All ballots must be received by the Giles County Election Commission by US Mail by the close of the polls on Election Day.

You must submit a written request containing the information below to the office of the Giles County Board of Elections no later than the seventh day before Election Day. You can use the absentee ballot request form to ensure that all necessary information is provided.

Stewart County Election Commission

You can send your written request for an absentee ballot by post, fax or e-mail. If you send your request by email, please ensure that the attached document contains the information below and your scanned signature.

Note: Any person who is not an employee of the Election Commission commits a Class A felony if he or she files an application for an absentee ballot or makes an unsolicited request for an application for an absentee ballot to that person. T.C.A. § 2-6-202(c)(3) and (4).
