UCSB has 6.2 megawatts of solar on site, which provides approximately 15% of UCSB's electricity consumption and up to 35% on clear spring and summer days.
UC Santa Barbara reports its official Scope I and II emissions to the Climate Registry (TCR), a non-profit emissions registry for North America. These emissions follow TCR's general reporting protocol, are verified by third parties and published on the TCR website. To date, emission inventories have been submitted and verified for calendar years (CY) 2004 through 2019. The inventory included all six Kyoto Protocol gases for scope 1 and 2 emissions.
