Uw 2023 Academic Calendar – Pack Advisors (PA) are responsible for assisting the New Student and Family Program in providing direct services to new students aimed at promoting a successful academic and social transition into the UW community. PAs will serve as role models and mentors to new students through face-to-face interactions and group activities and programs. Pack Advisors are responsible for connecting new students with key campus resources and college connections that will promote a positive transition and student experience.

This position will start on May 1, 2022 and will last until May 1, 2023. Students must have spring admission (Friday 14:30 – 16:30). Students must also be able to attend all training sessions and be able to work 19 hours per week during the school year, and 30-40 hours in the summer. Responsibilities will follow university guidelines for personal and remote work.

How To Apply

"Students 18 and older are limited to working 19.5 hours per week during school hours, but may work more than 19.5 hours per week during breaks or when "on the road" " they are. – UW Student Employee

Pack Advisors can enroll in summer courses. However, in the summer Pack Advisors work 30 – 40 hours per week (training and activities). It's important to keep this in mind as you balance school and this role.

Summer: Due to Pack Advisor commitments during summer training and Husky Orientation in September, Pack Advisors are asked not to participate in campus activities outside of their duties.

Academic Year: During the academic year Pack Advisors may hold additional positions on campus but not more than 19.5 hours per week between all positions.

All 2022 recruitment events and current summer training are expected to be in a hybrid format (in person and online) unless otherwise instructed. Keeping staff and students safe by following University and COVID-19 safety guidelines is a priority for the Office of New Student Programs and Families.
