Franklin Sampson, CFISD's director of guidance and counseling, was elected vice president of the Lone Star State School Counseling Association (LSSSCA).

Cy Fair School Notebook: Cfisd School Board Approves Calendar For 2021 2022 School Year

18 wrestlers medaled at Cy-Fair ISD at the 19-CFISD Invitational Jan. 7-8, including two individual championships.

Cypress Ranch High School girls wrestlers finished as the top-ranked CFISD school, while the Cypress Ranch boys were the top-ranked CFISD team in the boys tournament.

Kahala High School students and staff organized Bears for Blue Road, collecting new and used supplies for the CFISD Police Department and other police departments.

Harmony Science Academy Calendar

According to a press release of the district, 160 stuffed animals have been collected, which will be given to needy children.

The plan was put together by Kahla's class paraprofessional Kelsey Jackson and secretary Dolores Fraller as an opportunity for students to help others. It started on January 5th and ended on January 13th

"It's a service project that gives back to the community," Jackson said. "I've talked to some kids who are struggling financially and it's great to hear them talk about giving their stuffed animals to someone else. They're getting something in return, but it's not tangible. It's doing a good job. Service."

Virginia Tech To Face Pitt, Wake, Uva For 2023 26 Seasons

The Cy-Fair ISD school board approved the instructional calendar for the 2021-2022 school year during the Jan. 14 board meeting.

According to a district news release, the schedule was prepared by a committee formed in the fall semester of 2020.

In this notification, the district administrator said that the committee is constituted of various representatives of the district including teachers, parents, community members, campus administrators and support staff. The committee solicited public input online in developing a schedule using the 75,600 minutes needed to fill a mandatory school year.

Revised Bell Schedule For 2022 23 School Year

According to the calendar, the first day of school for students in the 2021-2022 school year will be August 23, 2021, when the school year begins.

State law requires that instruction for the school year begin no earlier than Monday, August 4, the news release said.

September 24, 2021, October 22, 2021, January 14, 2022, February 11, 2022, and April 18, 2022: Five teacher work days/school closures, which also serve as student holidays.

Winter Conference Clinic Submission Form

The Cycad FH Horse Judging Team was awarded the 2020 Texas Horse Cup, according to a news release from Cy-Fair ISD.

Horse judging events help teach students about equine science by evaluating and classifying horses based on breed, conformation and performance characteristics, the news release said. The winning team was determined based on the results of the nine competitions. The team received the award with 1,301 points

Cy Wood's horse judging team included student Grace Ehrenfeld and 2020 graduates Thomas Binnig, Katelyn Morgan and Katy Halaska.

Sixth Enrollment Classification Coming To Some New York State Sports In 2023 24

"I couldn't be more proud of this horse judging team," Cypress Woods FF and horse judging advisor Monica McClain said in a press release. "They have worked hard and remained flexible through all the changes and challenges this horse judging season has brought in 2020. There is no other team that deserves this award."

Halaska finished in the top 10 individually with 1,015 and was fourth overall Jersey Village 2020 grad Cale Essman took home the individual cup with a total of 1,218 points.

"Kale is a true leader and has led our horse judging team to many great accomplishments," said Amber Hibdon, Jersey Village FFA and Horse Judging Advisor. He has raised the bar for the rest of the team and for each new member. Kale always made sure he was ready to compete and constantly encouraged other team members Cale has put in the time, dedication and hard work to succeed and we are proud to represent Jersey Village FFA to see it pay off.

Keith Elementary Principal Don Trinh and Cypress Springs Principal Dr. Cheryl Henry have been selected by Cy-Fair ISD principals to represent the district for this year's Region 4 Principal of the Year Awards, a district press release announced.

Trinh has served as Keith's component director since 2017 and has more than two decades of administrative and classroom experience in education, according to the release. Henry has been principal of Cy Springs since 2015 and has more than three decades of classroom and administrative experience in education.

First and second place were earned by more than 85 theater arts students from various Cy-Fair ISD high schools during the Texas Thespian Virtual Festival.
