Ekta received her BA in Public Health from Columbia University Graduate School of Public Health in 2018 and her MA in Psychology and Public Health from Boston University in 2014. She has extensive experience in healthcare marketing, strategic communications and the research. – Focused and passionate about racial justice, women's rights, community health and health equity. As a healthcare professional, Ekta strives to prioritize equality and justice in everything she does.

Ekta is currently the Chief Health Education Officer for FHI 360, a global non-profit organization dedicated to improving long-term empowerment through integrated solutions. As part of the Social Marketing and Communications team, Ekta supports communication strategies and disease prevention initiatives through CDC's Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity. It also works on several racial equality projects with local and foreign partners.

Previously, Ekta worked as a health communication specialist at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Office of Community Health and Prevention. In her role, she managed all health communication activities for several cancer control and prevention programs, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and stroke.
