Wilson County Tn School Calendar 2023-24 – In the fall of 2021, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Commissioner Penny Schwinn invited Tennesseans to participate in a comprehensive review of the state's public education funding formula and explore options for a more student-centered approach. The Tennessee Department of Education and the General Assembly convened 18 funding subcommittees and organized a legislative steering committee.

In addition, Tennesseans are offered more than 1,000 opportunities to get involved, including 16 community town halls and local game discussions across the state. The TISA Act was passed by the Tennessee General Assembly on April 28, 2022 and signed into law by Governor Bill Lee on May 2, 2022. Based on input from a variety of stakeholders – parents, teachers, administrators, business leaders and the community – public comments on the proposed rules will be accepted until Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

The TISA Act specifically requires rulemaking in certain jurisdictions to clarify the law, define deadlines, and establish procedures and processes for obtaining financial benefits. Under a consultation process for the budget review that generated more than 1,000 comments, the department will collect public feedback and ideas that will strengthen the proposed rules and ensure compliance as the state passes a student-centered K-12 formula. of public education.
