His research focuses on biological and diagnostic applications of cell-free nucleic acids in plasma. In 1997, Professor Lu discovered the presence of cell-free fetal DNA in maternal plasma, leading to the development of a DNA-based non-invasive prenatal test, a major breakthrough in the global scientific community and now used by millions of people. of the people.
